In China, there is a familiar zhaocai mao (lucky cat) figure whose paw moves back and forth to attract fortune, often with glowing red eyes. Inspired by this image, I embedded two red LED lights inside the cat to serve as its eyes, and placed the switch on the moving paw. When the cat’s paw—lined with copper tape—high-fives the paw on the greeting card, the circuit is completed and the red lights turn on.
